Passengers are being invited to enjoy a "spectacular" afternoon tea experience aboard the Llangollen and Corwen Railway - with extra dates now added after every service so far has sold out.
The railway’s popular Afternoon Dee services combine a luxurious traditional cream tea with a full line return journey through the breathtaking Dee Valley - travelling through the historic Berwyn Tunnel, alongside the enchanting River Dee.
Listening to customer demand, the railway has now added additional dates, including Sunday May 24 at 12.20pm with more to come.
Guests enjoy reserved seating aboard a steam train while indulging in a freshly prepared Afternoon Tea featuring:
- A selection of freshly made sandwiches
- Freshly baked fruit scones with jam and clotted cream
- An assortment of sweet treats and cakes
- Tea or coffee served at your table
Adding to the luxurious experience, customers can also upgrade their booking to include a glass of Prosecco.
Jordan Edge, Catering Manager at the railway, said: “The response to our Afternoon Tea services has been incredible. Every date we have released so far has sold out, and we have had constant requests from customers asking us to add more.
"This really is unlike any other Afternoon Tea experience. Guests can relax in one of our heritage carriages, enjoy freshly baked scones and a luxurious cream tea, while travelling through some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain. From passing through the Berwyn Tunnel to following the beautiful River Dee all the way from Llangollen to Corwen, it is a truly unforgettable journey.
“Stopping at our award-winning Glyndyfrdwy Station adds another special touch, and with the option to upgrade to Prosecco, it really is the perfect treat for birthdays, celebrations, anniversaries - or simply a relaxing afternoon with family and friends. The Afternoon Dee is an experience to savour and a memory to treasure.”
The railway says demand remains exceptionally high and early booking is strongly recommended.
* Running dates for the Afternoon Dee services are: May 17 and 24; June 21; July 26; August 16 and September 13.
