People with a passion for the local environment have the chance to help keep it free from rubbish later this month by taking part in the latest Dee Valley Clean-Up.
The Big One is due to take place on
Saturday June 21 and organisers are inviting everyone to join in.
Last year’s event was a huge success
with over 200 people attending in some form. This makes it unofficially the
biggest litter pick ever to happen in the valley, they believe.
This year they’re going for it again
and are inviting anyone and everyone to join them.
In a message on Facebook they say: “We
would love to invite you onto the water, trails and paths around Llangollen,
anywhere that you want to target to make cleaner and safer for everyone and
everything.
According to
organisers, the plan is:
* Meet at Horseshoe Falls Car Park - 5pm
* Clean and collect wherever you want, how ever you want. There will be groups heading out
on the river, canal, trails and paths
* There will be limited spaces on rafts
and in canoes. These need to be booked beforehand
* Rubbish dump at Mill street car park 7.30
* People are welcome to meet at Riverbanc from 7.30 for music,
food, gifts and raffle from sponsors
