A large tree whose roots were washed away by heavy rain over the weekend fell into the Llangollen Canal blocking the waterway to boat traffic on Monday morning.
However, workmen from Brtish Waterways were quickly on the scene to saw up the trunk and boughs and allow narrow boats to pass again.
At one stage before the debris was removed, around a dozen boats crewed by holidaymakers were held up for a couple of hours as they tried to make their way towards Llangollen Basin - but all took the delay in their stride, many tying up by the towpath to enjoy a brew.
