Big charity event makes urgent appeal for cake

* Challenge organisers are looking for bara brith and lots of other cakes.

Organisers of the 4th Llangollen Round Challenge, which takes place later this month in aid of Cancer Research, have put out an urgent appeal - please bake a cake for us!

They say: "We desperately need cake of all sorts, but particularly flat-bakes - flapjack, bara brith, banana bread, parkin, etc - to feed the 500 walkers on the challenge on May 28/29.

"The walkers get a small piece of cake at each of five checkpoints in the hills - that's  2,500 pieces of cake - and cake is also needed in the restaurant which they  and their supporters visit at the end of the walk.

"Any cake you bake will mean that we don't have to spend money that would otherwise have gone to Cancer Research UK, so we will be extremely grateful for anything you can offer.

"Please could you let us know as soon as possible (tel. 07905 330788 or email smithdinbren@gmail.com) what you are going to make so we can work out what we still need.

"Cakes can be brought to our campervan in East Street long-stay car park - look out for the flag - between 10am and 3pm on Thursday May 26, or we can collect them if that is difficult

"In advance, thank you so very much for your help."
