Melodics to sing for Tenovus walkers

* The Melodics will gig again at the Bridge End
on Wednesday.

Fresh from their success at Llanfest, the showcase of local talent on the final day of the Eisteddfod, singing group the Melodics are to gig again at the Bridge End pub this Wednesday, July 18.

They will be giving a warm musical welcome to a group of Tenovus staff and volunteers who will foot-slogging into town after walking along the canal from Nantwich to Llan to raise money for the cancer charity.

The intrepid walkers, including Frank the dog, were given a brass band send-off when they left the Cheshire town on Monday.

The ladies of the Melodics begin their repertoire at 6pm, so why not go along and support them and Tenovus.

  1. In the event, it was three valiant walkers from the Llangollen shop who did the walk, they were rather let down at the Nantwich end (no brass band, no fellow walker) and poor Frank the dog was not at all well and is in the veterinary hospital. But they and their families and friends really appreciated our selection of walking songs, and we were proud and happy to donate our Eisteddfod fee (£100) to their sponsorship money. Well done, Kate, Annette and Susie (Llangollen Tenovus) for those thousands of steps.
