Breaking news ...

An intrepid trio of charity champions from Llan have raised at least £600 for Tenovus by walking 58 miles from Nantwich back to town.

Suzie Owen, Katherine Lloyd and Anette Cole completed their marathon trek along the canal towpath, leaving the Cheshire town on Monday, and arriving in Llan - tired and footsore - just after 6pm on Wednesday.

They were given a fanfare welcome home by local ladies' singing group, the Melodic Mondays, who sang, appropriately, (I Would Walk) 500 Miles, These Boots Were Made for Walking and Walking in the Rain amongst others.

The walkers reckon to have raised more than £600 in sponsorship from their efforts for the cancer charity.
