Grease is the word for young performers

For two days next weekend St Collen’s Community Centre, Llan 2012 will become Rydell High School, California, 1958.

Because that is when  former professional West End Theatre and TV performer Julie Thomas stages a two-day  dance/drama workshop for children to enjoy during the summer holidays.

And as it takes its theme from the hit musical Grease,  budding Olivia Newton Johns or John Travoltas will dance to the music of timeless hits such as Summer Nights,  You’re The One That I Want,  Born To Hand Jive  and much more.

These workshops, which culminate in a performance and are for youngsters aged six-14, also take place in Ruthin, Wrexham and Oswestry in subsequent weeks.

The Llangollen workshop will be held between 10am and 3pm on Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21.

Julie said: “The children have a super time and really love the lead up to their performance for family and friends, it’s also such fantastic value for mums and dads.”

·         Places cost £30 for the two-day event with a reduction of £5 for each sibling and can be booked by telephoning  01978 860300, 07944 402474, or emailing: juliekirkthomas@hotmail.co.uk.
